World of Concrete News – Las Vegas

Hi Solar Building News reader,

This week I’m in Las Vegas, NV at the World of Concrete show to see what’s new in passive solar building materials and what’s going on with green building materials on a commercial level.

What a great show and if you aren’t here, your missing out on talking to some of the biggest experts in the world when it comes to concrete and masonry.

The show is at the large convention center in Las Vegas and it took me two days of walking and talking more than 5 hours each day to see everything there is to see in the 3 stadium sized buildings.

The one thing I found missing was the solar and wind power venders. Not too surprizing as it’s mostly a commercial contractors event, but with all the home building applications, I was still a bit dissappointed that there weren’t some solar panel and wind generator venders. Small wind generators and trailers set up with solar energy stations would be a boon to many contractors working in romote locations. I plan on setting up a trailer to pull behind my motorhome so I know that has to be a market for them.

At any rate, there was so many good ideas that I’ll have to put them on here in short articles one at a time.

So, with that said, look for more passive solar building ideas in the next few days and weeks.
